It’s called “Research and Development!” When it quiets down for the winter season here in South Walton, it’s time to get out there and see what’s going on! My staff and I work hard. We probably all work too hard and too often! It’s hard to hit the pause button on daily life, but I know the importance of it! Part of being ambassadors to our area, is knowing the lay of the land.
And, the best way to know it is to get out there and see it! So, a couple of weeks ago, my staff and I piled in my van, and hit the road. We cruised 30A from Grayton Beach to Rosemary Beach! We drove SLOW! We rubbernecked as we slid by new restaurants, new shopping centers, gorgeous coastal dune lakes, the iconic “Western Lake” scene I’ve painted a million times, and we shared stories of local business lore.
When we got to The Hub between Watersound and SeaCrest, we wandered through the beautiful shops! We found artist Allison Wickey atop a ladder, redoing her gallery! Our next stop was the shops at 30Avenue. It’s a beautiful shopping center right on Hwy 98 at the eastern edge of 30A. There’s an expansion project going on there and a few new businesses opening up! It’s exciting to see what everyone is doing! We ended our journey at The Pearl in Rosemary Beach.
We enjoyed lunch at the Havana Beach Bar and Grill! We decided our mission was a success and we hope to hit the road again soon. But next time, we’ll go the OTHER direction! To the Henderson Beach Resort! Stay tuned!
