Sometimes when I’m working under pressure (which is A LOT), I try and give myself mini “challenges” that I dream up. I love a challenge and it puts enough pressure on me to really get me going even when I’m not in the mood to make art! SO..I found this really pretty vase and decided I wanted to see how many little sea creatures I could make out of it. Mario, my gallery guru, said we were low on small 6 x 6 canvases. So, I painted up a bunch and went to work! I felt like I was decorating cupcakes or something! The vase wasn’t very big really…maybe 8 inches high and 9 inches wide. TA DAAA…I made 24 sea turtles (8 are not shown), plus two sea stars and three crabs plus a lot of glass left over to use as accents in an abstract piece I did. Talk about recycle!
