ShardWorx Art Abounds!

Destin, FL — You may have heard of artist, Mary Hong. Or perhaps you have taken a second look at a piece of art in a local hotel or a friend’s home and seen shards of glass on it. You may have even taken a class to learn how to make your own art with glass at The Shard Shop.

Creating art with glass on canvas is taking center stage with a new line of products under the brand name ShardWorx® for retailers and anyone looking for creative outlets. For the creatives at heart, ShardWorx® is launching its line of art supply kits and accessories that provide everything you need to make ShardWorx® art at home or in your own studio. Sets of colored crushed glass, resin kits, tools, and accessories are now available for purchase online. Stock up on art supplies for this unique method of incorporating glass onto canvas and wood paintings! ShardWorx® Art Kits have everything you need to create a unique glass art piece in over 13 different designs.

ShardWorx® will be debuting their Kits for Kids at Creativation 2018. Designed especially for children, the glass is tumbled smooth for little hands. These new products are being premiered at the Association for Creative Industries’ Creativation tradeshow in Phoenix next month (www.creativationshow.org) and will be available for purchase at ShardWorx.com.

ShardWorx® is unique art made with glass and resin on a painted canvas and was created in Florida by artist Mary Hong. A professional artist for 23 years, Hong considers herself “a glass artist who paints” and has participated in group and solo exhibitions in the U.S. and abroad. She opened the flagship Mary Hong Gallery in Grayton Beach FL in 2012 and added her first hands-on art-making studio, The Shard Shop, in 2015. Shops in Destin, FL and New Orleans, LA followed in 2017.

After creating art like this, you will never look at glass the same way again…the possibilities are endless! A blue glass crab, a pink glass pig, a fish, tree, octopus, seahorse, anything. All you need is an open canvas, a little repurposed glass, and your imagination.
